the rubber drive wheel is old and useless. Same for the bobbin part. Also the motor is not putting out much power. It says 250V and 3amps on the cover and I am sure I dont want to put that much electricity into this thing as it just may explode. Any one have any suggestions for replacement parts?

I really like sewing, but I recently moved out of state and no longer have access to my mother's sewing machine, which was some model of Pfaff. I liked it a lot, but the problem was that it was hard to find accessories for it since no one seems to carry that brand. So, I'm looking for a new one. I sew as a hobby, I'm not a professional. I'm not a beginner either, so I don't want something too basic. It has to be well made (I've been warned about Singer machines (new ones, not the older models) and Brother machines). I want to spend around 0-0. There's a Viking store right down the street from my new place, but I've never used their machines and I don't know anything about their quality. I've tried looking for an old Singer, but they're actually more expensive than the new machines, plus I live in a tiny apartment and those machines seem to take up a lot of space.

Also, if it makes a difference, I'm mainly using this to make clothes, pillow cases, curtains, etc... but I am not a quilter.

I have a singer sewing machine and my dad wants me to fix his denim jeans but when i try to my other needles break, so i found some that were specifically made for denim and what not, so i was wondering if they would still work in my singer sewing machine even though these denim sewing needles are not a singer brand ????

Could heavy thread used on a thick fluffy fabric (minky to prefold diaper) be the cause of my thread coming out of the needle when I try to sew? I've tried to remedy the problem following other answers and explanations found online but to no avail...

I have those little spools that are like 1 inch in length that come from the dollar store kits. Do I need to get a longer length spool to use to thread my machine? Or I can I use those? Btw, i'm new at sewing!! Any kind of help is appreciated!
