???? hi,which is a better sewing machine BROTHER CS 6000 ?? or EURO PRO/SHARK 9110 for sewing and quilting?
i want to get a sewing machine and both look good having auto button holes and drop feed along with a start/stop button but i also was thinking about a presser foot knee lift lever?? but my main question is which machine or do you have a better recommendation??? thank you for your help ![]()

I have no axe to grind here… but if I were to have to choose between the machines, I’d check with the local repair places first to see what they’d be willing to handle. It’s my understanding that the Europro machines have *very* poor availability of parts.
Neither is a brand that I particularly like. I’d probably point you at Viking, Pfaff, Bernina, Janome, Toyota
Check the machine reviews at patternreview.com and ask about experiences with them (longer than a few weeks) on a high volume sewing group like the yahoo group CreativeMachine.
Both machines are fine. I have never felt the lack of a knee lift lever. I don’t think it’s an issue. If one of the machines has a pop-off faceplate rather than screw-off, get it. You need to take off the sole plate to clean out lint every time you change a bobbin, and it is MADDENING to undo all the tiny screws every time.

In general, Brother is a better machine. They make the mechanisms for the expensive machines like Elna and Bernini at the Brother factory, so Brother’s got good workmanship.
